London Calling, Post 7 – Homeward bound

I’m kicking it, Heathrow style, in the lounge waiting for my flight to start boarding in an hour or so. I am CRAZY tired today, due in part to the fact that the guy down the hall from my room was apparently hosting some kind of house party in our miniscule rooms until nearly midnight last night. Please do me a favor – the next time you hear me talking about traveling to Europe, and I mention what a great deal my hotel was, and how I don’t care about using the bathroom down the hall, please remind me of this. Then book me an appointment to donate plasma or something so I can afford a grown-up hotel. Thank you in advance.

Seriously – this trip to London has been awesome, and seemed to have gone by too quickly. I took in some new things, and revisited some of my old favorites. This is still one of my favorite places on earth, and I still haven’t done everything I want to here. And this is my second trip here by myself, so if I ever had any doubts about being able to swing travel on my own, they’re gone now.

Now, the realization sets in how tired I am of travelling on my own. Not just to Europe, but everywhere. But how that journey resolves itself is yet to be seen. For now, I’m hanging in the lounge, watching “Sands of Iwo Jima” on mute, and waiting for the next journey to start. Whatever it looks like, I’m pretty sure it’s going to be a good one.
