My friend Mildly Granola has the best crafty blog posts. I’m straight up stealing some of her ideas for posts – starting with Sock It to Me Monday. I cast on a new pair of shortie socks today, using a variation of the Rose City Rollers free pattern. Shortie socks are stupid easy when you’re a toe-up sock knitter. You just stop once you’ve reached the ankle. It’s been a great way to use up sock yarn that I’ve got left over from other projects like shawls. So far I’ve knit two pairs of shortie socks during lock down, which shall forever after be named Social Distancing Shortie Socks. They make for good nerve-calming knitting while watching COVID-19 updates. These that I started today are made from buttery soft naturally dyed yarn from Garden Wool & Dye.
