(And now that I’ve typed that headline, I feel like I’ve oversold things. An inauspicious beginning, to be sure. But, here goes…)
As some, but not many, people know, the last few months have been a bit of a roller coaster for me. I had an awesome job, which unfortunately got not-so-awesome for me around Christmas, and I decided (after lots of prayer and discernment) to leave it at the beginning of February. I’ve had a few weeks to figure out what the heck happens next. And here it is.
That’s what I’m going to do. I’m joining the ranks of the freelance nation as a writer and editor, and finally doing what I’ve been dreaming of doing for the last 10 years as I’ve been a (somewhat) happy cubicle dweller.
So, if you or anyone you know is in need of a professional writer to make them sound good, I do sincerely hope you’ll let me know. If you’ve ever thought of setting up a blog, writing your family history, using white papers or social media marketing to increase the visibility of your business, or – heck – if you’ve got a high school student who doesn’t know where to start on their research paper, I’m your girl.
Professional inquiries (man, I love the sound of that!) can be sent to ivy@ivywrites.com.
(And as I wait for the freelance work to start flooding in, the fine folks at eaHELP are giving me work as a virtual executive assistant. Check them out – they have some really great services available for church and small business leaders who are looking for talented folks like me for a few hours a week. Their parent company, Miles Advisory Group, offers tons of services in the church outsourcing space. They’re really doing some cool things, and I’m excited to be a part of it!)
Congratulations and best of luck to you!! And I just wanted to let you know that I think you are incredibly strong, brave, brilliant, and powerful for taking on this adventure!
Good for you! My prayers are with you. 🙂
