Being me Jesus Workin' for a living

Second verse, same as the first…

I really don’t want every post on here to be all, “Woe is me, I’m self-employed and worrying about my money running out…” I realize that having the luxury of pursuing this path is one that few people have, and that I’m even getting the chance to try living my dream is something hardly anyone gets to do. But the last few days have been really rough, as the end of my savings account looms large.

Then in today’s mail, I get a letter from my sweet friend Carol, whom I met at the hospital where we both worked eight years ago. I was the marketing and communications director, and she supervised all the process improvement and risk management activities. She sent me a copy of the mock “newsletter” my coworkers put together for me when I left there in 2004. Left that job, without another, and that time with a mortgage AND a car payment.

Sound familiar?

Just when I think I’m running headlong down this path towards failure, that I’m going to fall flat on my face before the entire world, God sends me yet another reminder that we’ve been here before, He’s carried me through it before, and all shall be well.

It will.

Isaiah 50:7 – Because the Sovereign Lord helps me, I will not be disgraced. Therefore have I set my face like flint, and I know I will not be put to shame.

Romans 10:11 – As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in Him will never be put to shame.”
